July 28, 2019[Podcast] MM029: 3 Effective Link Building Strategies (That Anyone Can Use) — with Matthew Woodward
August 22, 2019When we look at today’s growing social media landscape, Facebook is one social media network we simply cannot ignore. Founded in 2004, with a mission to build communities and bring people closer, today, Facebook has over 2.41 billion monthly active users worldwide (which is about one third of the world’s population.)
Following recent developments, there is a good chunk of marketers who have more faith in winning a lottery than banking on Facebook organic reach. Organic reach on Facebook takes both time and effort, making it important for marketers and business owners to master the next best strategy – Facebook Ads.
Facebook’s advertising revenue is increasing year by year and the same serves as its primary cash cow. With an exponential yearly increase in the number of ad impressions combined with decreasing average price per ad, it’s fair to expect a lot of competition when it comes to advertising on Facebook.
In spite of the challenge, how do some brands or businesses manage to attract boat loads of traffic and manage to convert better? What’s their secret sauce? Well, the first ingredient would be to create a good ad copy.
In this post, we will discuss the three best Facebook ad examples used by brands and identify the aspects that make them work.
Before We Start…
To create a good ad copy, we need to work on these four fundamental aspects of content creation:
- Visual Appeal
- Relevance
- Effective Value Proposition
- Call To Action (Non Spammy)
As we go through the following Ad examples, try to judge the copy on the above mentioned aspects and you’ll be able to get ahold of the pattern that helps them grab attention.
Best Facebook Ad Examples
1. WeWork
We Work’s expertise lies in creating focused offices and personalized headquarters for entrepreneurs and startups.
What is good about this ad:
- WeWork has effectively used the carousel feature to create a detailed visual representation of everything they have to offer. The carousel starts with an attention-grabbing offer.

- The use of a simple, non spammy Call to Action encourages people to book a tour and visit their premises, instead of a sales pitch. The likelihood of converting leads into customers drastically increases in a favorable environment.
According to Corey Brown, Senior Brand Manager at WeWork, the company managed to get a 10X increase in return on ad spend and an 88% reduction in cost per desk sold by making use of thumb-captivating-short-form video ads as it helped effectively communicate their unique value proposition.

Side note: Facebook Ad Library is where you can see all the active and inactive ads on Facebook. It’s a great tool to uncover your competitors’ ad strategies and get valuable insights. Watch this video to learn more about how to make the best use of this highly underrated Facebook Marketing tool.
Facebook introduced the Ads Library in 2019 to increase transparency by offering a comprehensive, searchable collection of ads currently running from across the Facebook products. The best part is that you can view these ads even if you are not a part of the advertiser’s targeted audience.
Finally, to run an effective ad, it has to be visually appealing (use of good graphics and short videos), with the content being relevant and self-explanatory. Understanding the pulse of your target audience makes the Ad engaging and will serve you well during your campaign.
